Prolonged Redemption Grace Period for .si domains being extended to June 30th 2020

While the work of the .si Registry is going smoothly, we are aware that many are still facing great concerns. Therefore, we decided to extend some of the measures we adopted at the .si Registry at the end of March in order to facilitate the operations of registrars and domain name holders.

When domains under .si expire, they are set “pending delete” status. After expiration of pending delete period, domains are deleted and made available for registration again. On 23rd of March, pending delete period was extended from 30 to 60 days. This allowed the domain name holders whose domains expired, to have more time to renew their domains and at the same time offered them greater security so that their expired domains would not be registered by someone else. We are now extending the duration of this measure until 30th of June.

Domain name holders are advised to check the expiration date of their domains and arrange a renewal with the registrar in a timely manner. This way, they can prevent their websites and email addresses from malfunctioning.

In case of problems and additional questions, you can contact your registrar, and then also the employees of the Register for .si (info@register.si).
